Below are stories that have been compiled by students of The Royal Blind School as part of their BBC School Report initiative.

The Royal Blind School Eco Committee is for the whole school

Eco warriors fight for the planet
The Royal Blind School eco committee is for the whole school. It was set up in August 2006. Teaching staff, education staff, care staff and pupils can all attend and one parent representative.

James is 14, partially sighted and attends the Royal Blind School in Edinburgh

Swimming sensation
James is 14, he is partially sighted and goes to the Royal Blind School in Edinburgh. He lives in the Scottish Borders. He started swimming when he was 11, after going with his friend to the Loanhead Dolphins Swimming Club.

Royal Blind School swimming star
Lyndsey is a 15 year old girl and she has been swimming for 7 years.
She has been at the Royal Blind School in Edinburgh since October 2007. Lyndsey trains 5 or 6 days a week in the pool for 1 hour and also goes to the gym twice a week for 1 hour.

The RNIB forum was set up in June and aims to give young people with a visual impairment a voice.

RNIB calls young people to make change
The RNIB forum was set up in June 2007. This is a group for blind and partially sighted young people between the ages of 12 – 25. It is chaired by Grant Marshall and organised by Mo Colvin.
