Swimming sensation

James is 14, he is partially sighted and goes to the Royal Blind School in Edinburgh. He lives in the Scottish Borders.
He started swimming when he was 11, after going with his friend to the Loanhead Dolphins Swimming Club. He then started going once a week because he really enjoyed it and it built up from there. He now goes training 9 hours a week plus 1 hour a week at the gym. He also trains at Stirling University, Beeslack high school pool and Hawick.
On the 1st and 2nd of March he competed in the British junior disability championships in Sheffield. At this he achieved 7 gold medals and 2 silver. In 2008 James is hoping to be able to swim 100 metres front crawl in 1 minute 3 seconds and to get picked for the Great Britain squad.
He tells us, that he has no sporting inspiration. He must have a very determined attitude and he is always active and on the go which is very inspiring for other young people.
