Facilities and Services
Braeside House was specifically designed for the visually
impaired. It has 2 floors with 35 single en-suite bedrooms.
Each floor is divided into 3 units with its own dining and
sitting room, so that care can be carried out in small living
areas. There is easy access to bath and shower facilities. The
room is furnished with a bed, direct dial telephone, TV socket,
wardrobe, chest of drawers and a bedside cabinet with a
lockable drawer. The en suite contains further storage space.
Residents are welcome to personalise their room.

Our service is directly supervised by Registered Nurses
supported by care and domestic staff over the full 24 hour
period. The services of the resident’s own General Practitioner
may be retained; otherwise, the Home’s Doctor visits
regularly or as necessary. There is also routine contact with
the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion.
The easily accessible garden areas around our Home provide
a safe, relaxing environment for residents and visitors.
A wide range of activities and entertainments is provided
in-house and visits are arranged throughout the year to
various places of interest. Relatives and friends are welcome
to attend or participate in all of these activities and ventures.
