Elderly blind care - Welcome to Braeside House
Braeside House opened in 1999 as a purpose built Care Home for older people who are blind or visually impaired. Our knowledge and ability are based on the provision of services for the blind over many years and we have a wealth of experience in meeting the needs of elderly people with a visual impairment.
It is well documented that there is significant growth in the numbers of elderly blind and visually impaired people. The latest statistics from the Scottish Government highlight that just over 75% of people who are registered blind or visually impaired are over the age of 65 years. More people are living longer and the prevalence of age related sight loss is continuing to increase.
At Braeside House we know what the complications of sight loss mean on a daily basis. As an award winning care home for blind and partially sighted older people we have over many years developed and encompassed research into innovative techniques to care for our residents. Take a look at our website to discover more about Braeside House and if you would like to talk to us please give us a call on 0131 270 3020.
