World famous crime writer Ian Rankin kindly agreed to pen a special short story, featuring his most famous creation Inspector Rebus, in aid of Royal Blind.  He read his story at a most enjoyable evening at Edinburgh’s Caledonian Brewery on Thursday 4th March. Guests were treated to a  unique evening. As well as having Ian read this new story they also enjoyed a question and answer session with Ian and Scottish Television's Stephen Jardine who was our host for the evening. An auction of exclusive Ian Rankin items (which included the actual manuscript of The Very last Drop) and a wonderful raffle helped raise the staggering sum of £9,400.

Royal Blind would like to thank everyone involved in making the event such a success. Our sponsors and supporters: Montgomery Litho Group; Caledonian Brewery; Highland Park; The Scotsman; Orion Books; the staff of Caledonian Brewery and Royal Blind who helped on the night; everyone who bought a ticket for the event and bought auction items and raffle tickets; and not least of all Ian Rankin and Stephen Jardine who served up a very entertaining evening.

Ian has very kindly agreed to allow us to publish the story here on our website. To view it click here
