Our fundraising standards
Also in this section:
Royal Blind is a member of the Fundraising Standards Board and the Scottish Institute of Fundraising. This means we operate accountability and transparency in our fundraising. In practice we will ensure that:-
1. We are registered with OSCR (the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator).
2. We are honest and truthful, endeavour not to mislead and comply with the law.
3. We respect the reasonable requests of donors and other stakeholders.
4. Funds raised for a particular purpose for Royal Blind are used for that purpose.
5. If funds cannot be used for the particular purpose stated in the donation (ie the target has been met) then we inform the donor and ask if it is possible to use the monies elsewhere. If this is not possible we return the donation.
6. We work proactively to give donors, beneficiaries and other stakeholders a better understanding of how Royal Blind operates.
7. We use marketing materials, websites, publications and broadcasts to explain how Royal Blind operates.
8. We communicate effectively with staff, trustees and volunteers and when using donor information in a case study we respect the wishes for confidentiality and obtain relevant permissions.
9. We respond to any communication from donors, beneficiaries or other parties transparently.
10. We have a signed written agreement in place containing certain mandatory provisions if we use professional fundraisers or commercial participators.
11. We produce an annual report and accounts about our work and submit these to OSCR.
12. We have our accounts independently audited.
