Grammy-award winning Soweto Gospel Choir perform at Braeside House

Soweto Choir at Braeside House

The South African world music sensation, Soweto Gospel Choir, recently gave a personal performance to the elderly, visually impaired residents of Braeside House.

‘We were really delighted that the Soweto Gospel Choir visited Braeside House,’ said Marilyn McCann, Matron.  ‘The residents love music and the Soweto Gospel Choir has such a fantastic reputation. It was a fabulous performance and one to remember for our residents.’

Since Soweto Gospel Choir’s introduction to the world four and a half years ago, this amazing choir has amassed a growing international fan-base.  So far they have had a remarkable 2007, winning:

  • the 2007 Grammy Award for their CD Blessed,
  • a SAMA Award for Best Live DVD for Blessed, and
  • nominated for the 26th International Reggae and World Music Awards held in Harlem in May this year.
