National Australia Group appoint Scottish Braille Press to produce alternative format materials for their visually impaired customers

The National Australia Group (Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank) has chosen the Scottish Braille Press (SBP) to produce alternative format materials for their visually impaired customers

The bank has thousands of customers who are visually impaired and producing materials in a format to suit their individual requirements will make a significant difference to each one of these customers.

‘Our UK business has spent time getting feedback from visually impaired customers, staff and local community groups so that we can make further improvements to our services,’ said Jane Reucroft, Project Manager, Products & Marketing, National Australia Group.  ‘Based on this feedback we developed a service which started in September to produce alternative format materials for our visually impaired customers.  We are delighted to have partnered with the SBP to provide this service as a link with the visually impaired community was really important to us and we believe it will be strongly welcomed by our customers.’

The Scottish Braille Press has a long history of producing high quality Braille, large print and audio. Continued investment in technology has enabled our company to be at the cutting edge of providing innovative solutions for customers.  This year alone the press has produced over 6 million pages of Braille and 5 million sheets of large print and this number is set to increase over the next year.

‘We are delighted that the National Australia Group has chosen us to produce their alternative format materials,’ said John Donaldson, general manager, SBP.  ‘As part of a national charity any income from our commercial work goes straight back into helping those who are visually impaired so the acquisition of this business will make a real difference to us and we look forward to working with the National Australia Group to ensure we meet the needs of their customers.’
