National Braille Week

4-10 January 2009

Send a secret message

Following on from the success of our 2008 National Braille Week preparations are now underway for our 2009 event.

We would like to make this event bigger and better, with regional events organised to celebrate the the birthday of Louis Braille (the inventor of Braille) and World Braille Day.

If you have any ideas that you would like us to consider then please email to helen.forrest@royalblind.org or go to the website National Braille Week and enter in the blog section. The website celebrates all aspects of Braille, and visitors to the site will be able to discover interesting facts about Braille – how it was created and how it is used in the 21st century - and send an e-card with messages rendered into a Braille.
