Join us for a Great Scottish Walk

Due to the tremendous success last year, we have again joined forces with The Great Scottish Walk to raise funds for Royal Blind.
This year there are two Great Scottish Walks taking place in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Glasgow
On Sunday 25 May 2008 the Great Scottish Walk will take place at Bellahouston Park.
Edinburgh
On Sunday 22 June 2008 the Great Scottish Walk takes place at Meadowbank Stadium.
In addition for children and young people (up to 16 years old) there are now 8 Great Wee Scottish Walks spread throughout Scotland during the Spring and Summer.
The Golden Mile
Last year children at The Royal Blind School and our elderly residents at Braeside House took part in The Golden Mile. Whether young or old, previously inactive or recovering from illness, walking a mile is an achievable milestone for most people. A special medal and certificate is presented to all participants of The Golden Mile and entrants can participate at any time between 11am and 3pm. To find out more go online at Great Scottish Walk.
About the Walk
All walkers gather either at Bellahouston Park or Meadowbank Stadium, depending on which Great Scottish Walk you would like to enter. The 12 and 6 milers are divided, with the 12 milers starting off 20 minutes earlier than the 6 milers. Both groups finish back at the Stadium and join the Golden milers in celebrating the event.
