Waitrose raise £2122 in fun charity week

Waitrose

Waitrose in Edinburgh's Morningside chose the Royal Blind School at Canaan Lane as the local charity for their recent fundraising charity week.

During the week Waitrose staff took part in a range of activities to raise funds for the school's Bridgend Project that aims to grow healthy food together.

"We are delighted that Waitrose chose The Royal Blind School for their charity week," said Helen Forrest, marketing and fundraising manager for Royal Blind. "I hope it is the start of a blossoming relationship with Waitrose that will grow through the Bridgend Allotment Project."

Some of the activities that Waitrose planned for their fundraising venture included a quiz-sheet competition costing £1 per entry, a Silent Auction of donated Christmas gifts and donated goods from local businesses, a homebaking stall, a half-hour sponsored cycle in the foyer, plus a £1 a guess sweepstake on how far staff can cycle.
