Volunteer collectors needed

Margaret MacDonald

Do you have a little time to spare to help raise funds for the blind? We need volunteer collectors from all over Scotland to come forward to help raise much needed funds.

Only a few hours of time is needed for house to house collection and Royal Blind will provide volunteers with all the necessary materials.

Collection can take place at a time and date to suit your individual commitments and as it takes place in your own area it is a great way to exercise and meet your neighbours at the same time.

Helen Forrest, marketing and fundraising manager for Royal Blind said: 'We do have very dedicated house to house collectors in various parts of Scotland but over the years numbers have been declining. We would really like to boost our collectors over 2007 as
they make such an important contribution to the funds of the charity. People might think that they only raise a small amount of money by collecting in their street but if you add these all together then it is a very significant contribution to our charity'.

Pictured is Margaret MacDonald, one of our loyal Edinburgh house to house conveners, who over many years has helped raise thousands of pounds for us. Margaret organises the collectors and the collection of money for the Colinton Mains area.
