Braeside House, our award winning care home for elderly residents with a visual impairment, require 30 new electronic beds and mattresses.

Electrically operated low floor beds are ideal for residents who are liable to fall or climb out of bed and hurt themselves. For our residents who all have a visual impairment the beds provide dignified and safe care and adapts to the correct height for their carers.

Before the invention of electronic beds vulnerable residents needed to be nursed on floor mattresses, a practice that is clearly not suitable for reasons of hygiene, dignity and carer health.

Low level beds start and floor level and rise to the standard ergonomically correct height and are designed to accommodate a mobile hoist (an important consideration in the selection of any care bed). This enables the carer to work at a height which is safe and convenient for them, before returning the resident to a much lower level. Adjustable features include backrest, height adjustment and tilt options and for extra security, safety rails may be used.
