Brit Writers' Award for Royal Blind School pupil Adam
Adam Bojelian, 10 who attends the Royal Blind School in Edinburgh has been awarded one of the first Brit Writers' Awards for his poetry. Adam suffers from severe cerebral palsy and has major health problems and writes by blinking to choose words and syllables. He amazed judges with his work and they were not aware of his difficulties until he reached the semi-finals. His mother, Zoe Picton, 50, said she was overwhelmed by her son's feat. She revealed how she first confirmed he was communicating by blinking when he was about a year old.
