Canaan Lane Campus
The Canaan Lane Campus of the Royal Blind School is a purpose built educational and residential facility for children and young adults with Multiple Disabilities in addition to their Visual Impairments – MDVI.
Facilities
The facilities include:
- a purpose built school for MDVI up to 19 years of ages
- 54 places for MDVI young people
- residential facilities in 6 purpose built houses
- an early years play group
- two hydrotherapy pools
- an assessment suite with a video studio and editing facility
- access to our local community with established links and access to - St Peter’s Primary school, cafes, supermarket, specialist shops, community groups, library, Astley Ainslie Hospital grounds and facilities and many other informal community links.

- The opportunity to be part of the Leavers' programme based upon a purpose built Leavers' Unit with an adapted Leavers' curriculum to facilitate transition to adult placements in addition to a Curriculum for Excellence Senior Phase.
