Canaan Lane Campus:
Residential Provision
There are six purpose built houses for pupils attending
Canaan Lane Campus:
- one house provides five ’52 week’ residential places
- one house provides six rolling respite beds for 52 weeks in the year
- four houses each provide five term time places

The key features of the residential provision are:
- small residential groups of five young people
- high staff ratio
- nursing staff available at all times
- access to therapists for support and advice
- ongoing commitment to staff being trained to
minimum qualification of HNC + SVQ3
- senior staff social work qualified or equivalent
- individualised care and action plans for all young people
- positive ethos of 24 hour curriculum and care across
residential houses and school
- a comprehensive baseline assessment for all new pupils
with their first year following admission to the school
- positive inspection reports – HMIe (March 2004) & Care Commission
