It's Thunder in the Glens for Scottish War Blinded
Over 2500 bikes thundered into Aviemore in September for the annual Dunedin Harley Owners Group rally. Thunder in the Glens has become one of the key events in the UK for Harley-Davidson riders and fans, with some travelling from overseas to enjoy the two-day event.
George “Mad Dog” McGuire, Director, Dunedin Chapter Scotland said: “Our highlight of the year was undoubtedly the Thunder in the Glens rally. With almost 3,000 registering for the rally it is now officially the largest H-D and Chapter rally in the UK. To say we were stunned by the attendance is an understatement. But having said that attendees were rewarded with a fantastic programme of events which was topped off with the sensational Sunday night show that was “Route 66”. If you haven’t been to TITG then you have to add it to your “must do” list. With everyones help we managed to raise nearly £4,000 for Scottish War Blinded during this years rally.”
Such was the volume of bikes, that they took 25 minutes to leave the resort complex in Aviemore and stretched for nearly 12 of the 14 miles between the two Speyside towns.
Richard Hellewell, Chief Executive of Scottish War Blinded accepted the cheque donation from Dunedin Chapter Scotland at the Scottish War Blinded AGM in October .
