- Is the shop open any weekends and on public holidays?
Afraid not, opening hours are Monday to Friday from 9.30a.m. to 4.30p.m. If travelling a distance it is always best to phone to confirm it is not a local public holiday.
- Is Linburn closed for lunch?
No, there is always someone in the reception area.
- I am travelling by public transport, will I have a long walk from the bus stop?
No, the workshop building is about a 5 min walk from the main road.
- I cannot manage to visit Linburn/ I have bought goods which cannot fit in my car, can I have an order delivered?
Yes, there is, however a delivery charge made for this service.
- Is your workforce all totally blind?
No, we have a mixture of blind and partially sighted. There are two sighted Instructors who oversee the men in the workshops.
- I’m looking for an item made in materials used at Linburn, will you accept an order to my own specification/design?
Yes as long as the work is within the men’s capabilities. The Instructor is happy to discuss your requirements and will determine if it can be produced.
- Is Linburn only for men?
No, although there are only men in the workshops presently, we offer the same support to women who have suffered eye impairment as a result of their service.
- How is Linburn funded?
The work of the Institution is funded entirely by public subscription.
