Our Organisation

Pupil at Royal Blind SchoolRoyal Blind is a charity that was founded in Edinburgh in 1793. We have a lively present and a distinguished history. We provide education, care and employment for visually impaired people throughout their life time. Many of the people we support have additional disabilities and support needs.

All our services are currently based in Edinburgh, although we support people from all over Scotland and the rest of the UK. We are currently developing our presence in the West of Scotland, with a new care home scheduled to open in 2017 in Paisley.

Our sister charity is  Scottish War Blinded. Together, we operate as the Royal Blind Group. Each organisation has its own mangement, and both are overseen by the Royal Blind Board and Chief Executive.
