Our Organisation

Royal Blind is a charity that was founded in Edinburgh in 1793. We have a lively present and a distinguished history. We provide education, care, and employment for vision impaired people throughout their lifetime. Many of the people we support have additional disabilities and support needs.

Our services are located in Edinburgh and in Paisley, although we support people from all over Scotland and the rest of the UK.

Our sister charity is  Scottish War Blinded. Scottish War Blinded supports veterans with sight loss, including both those who lost their sight during service as well as consequently due to old age and conditions such as macular degeneration.

Each organisation has its own management, and both are overseen by the Royal Blind Board and Chief Executive.
