Royal Blind partnering accessible rugby spectating for people with sight loss

We are very excited at Royal Blind to be partnering with both Edinburgh Rugby and BAT’s – a socially inclusive rugby club in Edinburgh. We have joined together to test out ways of making spectating at rugby matches accessible for people who are vision impaired.

Royal Blind School pupils and young adults from Forward Vision collect clothing and raise funds to support refugee crisis in Europe

Pupils from the Royal Blind School and young adults from Forward Vision have responded to the present refugee crisis in Europe by collecting funds as well as donating toys, bedding and clothing.

By July 2015, over 438,000 refugees had claimed asylum in Europe compared to 571,000 for the whole of 2014. The conflict in Syria is the biggest driver of migration as well as continued violence in Afghanistan and poverty in Kosovo.

Royal Blind statement in response to media reports about RNIB

Text says Royal Blind statement

Royal Blind is saddened in relation to recent media reports about an inquiry into abuse at RNIB care services in Coventry.

We wish to clarify however that we are a completely separate organisation to the RNIB. Royal Blind is Scotland’s largest visual impairment charity. We provide services in Scotland only. Our care services are consistently graded Good and Very Good by the Care Inspectorate.
