Paralympic athlete and former Royal Blind School pupil Libby Clegg spoke at our National Braille Week exhibition about her experience of using Braille and other alternative formats. This was Libby's first engagement for Royal Blind since she was appointed Brand Ambassador

Libby said:

"I've been tryinging to brush up on my Braille for National Braille Week. I don’t think me and my brothers were the best Braille students, it’s so hard! I am trying to get better though."

National Braille Week took place in October for the first time this year during the week that World Sight Day falls. We held an exhibition at the Royal Blind School for our supporters which featured historic and new photos of the Scottish Braille Press. We also had the Royal Blind School's collection of historic Braille equipment on display, with Scottish Braille Press staff member Jim McCafferty giving demonstrations. Jim recently wrote a history of the Braille equipment.
