Jan taste tests cake with resident Andrew

Every Wednesday morning Royal Blind's Forward Vision hosts the Cranberry Tearoom.

At the Cranberry Tearoom residents and staff from Forward Vision provide guests with their choice of drinks, cake or savory breakfast rolls to enjoy. The tearoom was first founded to foster a shared sense of purpose for residents at Forward Vision, to develop their independent living skills and to bring residents together for a regular social activity.

This week, there was a special Showstopper Cake Competition! We had five fantastic entries and each were chiefly tested by our judging panel including Royal Blind's answer to Paul Holywood, Forward Vision resident Andrew!

Haunted house cake

The Showstopper event was put together by Forward Vision staff member Samantha Hood who said:

"We're so pleased with the incredible effort put in by everyone. We just thought this would be something different and a bit of fun!"

Enteries to the competition included a Chocolate Cake with Caramel Mousse decorated with a beautiful peacock and sugar biscuits to complete the tail, a Chocolate Orange Pumpkin cake, a homemade Caterpillar Cake and a special Royal Blind 225th Anniversary special sponge.

It was a close call, but there could only be one winner... and it was the Haunted House Spooktacular cake! There was no trick about this cake, just pure treat!
