St Mirren FC proved themselves to be winners both on and off the pitch, when they helped Royal Blind raise over £340 with a bucket collection at their home game against Falkirk FC last weekend.

The money raised will help provide specialist equipment for Royal Blind’s One of our volunteers, Pamela, with ST Mirren FC mascot, Paisley Pandanew care home in Paisley for visually impaired older people, Jenny’s Well. The 54 bed nursing home is due to open in October, with features such as a sensory garden and tactile signage, as well as specialised equipment and highly trained staff. Jenny’s Well will be Royal Blind’s first service in the West of Scotland.

Local volunteers took to the turnstiles as generous home and away fans donated their change to support the new services for visually impaired older people.

The charity connection turned out to be a winning partnership, with the final score St Mirren 3, Falkirk 1.
