Scottish War Blinded members and staff visited sister charity Royal Blind’s Kidscene after-School and Holiday Club service today to deliver and install garden furniture and raised flower beds as part of an ongoing programme of development at Caanan Lane.

The furniture and plant bedding has been produced by members at Scottish War Blinded’s Linburn Centre in Wilkieston, West Lothian. Members have cut, sanded and prepared the various components as part of their workshop activities over the last few months.

Scottish War Blinded’s Linburn Centre Workshop Instructor James Gregson and member Ewan Bowie visited Kidscene this morning to deliver and assemble a garden bench, table and two raised plant beds.

James said:

“Kidscene has received a grant to develop their gardens and kindly asked us to produce garden furniture and raised plant beds. Many of our members have enjoyed working on the project so far at the Linburn Centre and we will return later this month with two further raised flower plants. We hope the kids enjoy the opportunity to plant flowers and enjoy the furniture as part of their summer activities.”

Ewan said:

“I’ve really enjoyed the project so far and it’s good to visit Kidscene and see the constructed furniture and raised beds in the gardens.”
