Craigmillar Campus Farewell Tours

Posted: 29/05/2014 | Education,

Former pupils and staff members, along with their partners, families and friends, were invited to meet current pupils and teachers, including Head Teacher Elaine Brackenridge, and had the chance to explore the building with guided tours.

These special tours took place on the evening of Tuesday 20 May and throughout Friday 23 May, ahead of the school’s move to the re-developed Canaan Lane campus in August 2014.

Many of the guests had returned after decades away, and had a great time catching up with former friends and colleagues, and sharing their fond memories and stories of their time at the school.

Helen Budge, a former pupil of the school who attended for 15 years from 1952 to 1967, was delighted to be back in the old campus. She said:

“I hardly recognise the school, it is totally different to when I came here so many years ago and it’s wonderful to be back.  We had such a lovely tour, and our tour guide, who is a current pupil, was so patient and answered all of our questions.  It’s been a brilliant night.”

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and made the tours such a success.
