Royal Blind School presented with Eat Safe Award

The Royal Blind School has been presented with an award for excellent food hygiene standards.

The Eat Safe Award is only presented to food outlets with preparation conditions that are above those required by government legislation.

Each of the councils across Scotland operates a programme of inspections to ensure that required hygiene standards are met. During these inspections the premises are assessed against the Eat Safe Award criteria.

Now the Royal Blind School can count itself among the 84 establishments in Edinburgh that hold the award.

The Eat Safe Award was introduced by Food Standards Scotland with the primary concern of consumer protection – making sure that food is safe to eat, ensuring consumers know what they are eating and improving nutrition.
