A Very Special Retirement

Posted: 14/03/2012 |

Two amazing ladies will be retiring from Braeside House at the end of May. Nancy McCann and Liz Forsyth have with Royal Blind for a combined time of 66 years! Nancy has worked with us for 41 years and Liz for 25 years. They have played an active role not only in the daily work, but also through fundraising efforts that have seen Liz abseil from the Forth Road Bridge, organise charity walks and do a number of Bring and Buy sales.

In this time the ladies have seen many changes, but explain that one thing has always remained the same. ‘Over the years we have seen many changes, with the introduction of all sorts of high-tech equipment, but one thing that has never changed is the quality of service provided; it’s second to none. Braeside provides an amazing level of care and prides itself on training its staff to continue this.’ explained Nancy.

When asked what they would miss most about working at Braeside House, the firm friends both agreed it would be the residents. Marilyn McCann, Matron of Braeside House said: ‘Nancy and Liz have been a wonderful part of the team and we will miss them hugely. On behalf of all the staff and residents of Braeside House, we would like to thank them both for the amazing commitment they have shown to us and all of the hard work they have done over their year with us. We wish them a very happy retirement!’

I think that the last word needs to go to Nancy and Liz who when asked if they had a message for their colleagues said: ‘Keep up the good work and enjoy it!’

Happy Retirement Nancy & Liz, from all at Royal Blind.
