Friday 18 March is Red Nose Day at The Royal Blind School

Posted: 11/03/2011 |

Pupils from our Canaan Lane campus of The Royal Blind School will be holding a pirate themed day on Friday 18th March 2011 to raise money for Comic Relief. Our pupils will be taking part in a range of fun activities including a treasure hunt and pirate games galore. Taking part in Comic Relief supports part of the Curriculum for Excellence and helps to develop our students as Responsible Citizens and Effective Contributors. They gain an understanding of social issues and the needs of others as we encourage everyone to dress up as pirates. Each child will pay £1 for the privilege of dressing up while each staff member will pay £2. There will be prizes for various categories of costumes. During the day we will also be holding a baking sale, trying to guess the weight of the pirate cake and other fun fundraising activities. We are currently selling official Red Noses at school for £1. There are 3 different designs to choose from. We hope our Pirate Day will be a huge success and enjoyable for all.
