Former Royal Blind School pupil and Royal Blind Ambassador, Libby Clegg, has won Great Britain's first gold in the BT Paralympic World Cup in Manchester. Libby won the 100 metres for the visually impaired, to the delight of 5,500 spectators, among them schoolchildren who had come from as far away as Somerset. Libby has had Stargardt’s macular dystrophy since she was 9, a condition she shares with two of her three siblings.  Her two brothers, James and Stephen, also attend The Royal Blind School and both are training hard for the forthcoming 2012 Paralympics.
