More Ways to Get Involved with Royal Blind

Posted: 08/07/2014 |

At Royal Blind, we’re passionate about getting you motivated and involved in all of our amazing projects!

We rely on the kindness of others to do our work, providing services for Royal Blind School sports dayblind and partially sighted people of all ages, from pre-school to over 100 years of age. These services cost £1,445 every hour of every day.

Want to help? Luckily for you, we make it really easy for you to get involved!
Did you just finish at school or college, are you trying to get fit, or are you just looking to fil your time in a fulfilling way? Here are some ways for you to get involved with Royal Blind this summer.

Personal Fundraising

One of the most fun and popular ways that people help with Royal Blind and our mission is by fundraising. We have lots of ways to make this easy for you, especially if you love to run, cycle, or otherwise get active!

Are you up for a challenge? Check out our Challenge Events and see what takes your fancy.

Upcoming events include:
• Scottish Half Marathon 2014 – the newest event on the UK’s running calendar!
• Road Block Run – 10k with added obstacles for a bigger challenge and even more fun.
• Baxters Loch Ness Marathon 2014 – for the advanced runners out there
• Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run – Scotland’s largest mass participation sporting event!

Fundraising Events

If you’re not the running type, there are lots more fun events you can get into, too. We host many much-loved events that won’t require running shoes – but may still warrant a sense of adventure!

Visit our events page to find out more about:

• Forth Rail Bridge Abseil
• Royal Blind Brewery Quiz
• Try and Score Celebrity Golf Day 2014

Volunteers provide a vital resource for us to raise awareness and funds for our charity and support the running of the organisation.

Volunteering for a charity is a great place to pick up some useful work experience to put on your CV. It’s also great fun!

Lots of our volunteers of all ages find that getting involved is an enjoyable way to pass time and meet new people.

You can support our fundraising by volunteering as a:
• House to House Collector
• Street Collector Collecting
• Can Distributor
• Marketing and Fundraising Intern
