Pupils get the chance to bring Friends and Family to School

Royal Blind’s Friends and Family Day was held recently at the Craigmillar Park Campus and gave pupils a chance to show friends and family what daily life at the school is like.

The day, which is held every year, aims to encourage visitors to tour the school and visit classes and activities, and to find out a little more about The Royal Blind School. Activities on offer included amongst many a Ready Steady Cook competition, library reading and an arts and crafts class.

Community Fundraiser Lynn Stimpson said “We were delighted with the amount of people who attended, and the day was the perfect opportunity for guests to gain a better understanding of our school, its philosophy, our staff and our pupils”

The day included lunch on the lawn followed by a lively school production with brilliant performances from pupils. Many pupils were awarded medals after successfully taking part in the Scottish Disability Sport Open Junior Athletics Championships at Grangemouth. Well done to everyone!

If you missed it this year then look out for our open day next year. Details will be posted on the website.
