Royal Blind has eBay Fever!

Posted: 16/10/2012 |

On Thursday 18th October at 8pm, Royal Blind’s annual Light Relief Week eBay Auction will go live. Light Relief Week is a fundraising project in which supporters are encouraged to use the extra hour acquired when the clocks go back on Sunday 28th October to raise funds for Royal Blind. The eBay auction has become a successful fixture in the week’s programme of creative fundraising activities.

Royal Blind is delighted to announce that among the items listed in this week’s sale is a full-sized Epiphone Dove model acoustic guitar, personally signed by Barry Gibb, founder and frontman of the Bee Gees. Barry Gibb is an award-winning singer, songwriter and producer who formed the Bee Gees with his brothers Robin and Maurice, which went on to become one of the most successful pop groups of all time. Throughout his career, Gibb has been globally renowned for his falsetto vocals and penning hits such as “How Deep Is Your Love” and “Stayin’ Alive.”

The guitar features a solid spruce top with maple back and sides, as well as a rosewood fingerboard with split parallelogram inlays, Dove pickguard, stylised bridge with wing inlays, and chrome hardware. The classic Dove style acoustic was one of the first acoustic guitars to become a recognised rock and roll icon due to its tight, smooth and focused sound, and so it is fitting that the front of the guitar has been personally signed by one of the most celebrated musicians in rock and roll history.

The guitar is sold with a matching hard-shell travel case, as well as a photograph of Barry Gibb that features a pre-printed signature. This is a genuine iconic piece of Rock 'n Roll/Pop history, so snap it up while you can!
