Thank You to our Fundraisers

This week we would like to say a huge thank you to Paul Wilson, who along with Calum Paterson, is raising money for Royal Blind as part of the incredible ‘Challenge Munro’, a world record attempt in 2014 which will see Paul attempting to conquer 283 Scottish Munros in just 37 days!

Challenge Munro Fundraising Continues...

Last month, Paul took to the streets of Glasgow to compete in the Great Scottish Run half marathon for Royal Blind, finishing in a remarkable 1 hour and 48 minutes.

The Great Scottish Run starts in Glasgow’s George Square and takes runners past Glasgow landmarks including the Riverside Museum, Finnieston Crane, Clyde Arc and the new Hydro concert venue, with the half-marathon route including a loop through Bellahouston Park. Around 23,000 runners took part in this year’s event, in both the half-marathon and 10k events.

Paul said:

“It was a great experience and my first time running in this event. I found it perfect as a warm up to what I have planned for next year, as well as raising awareness for Royal Blind.

“I have been directly affected by blindness, as my mother lost her sight while still very young, and I’m fundraising for Royal Blind because of the fantastic work they do in helping children and adults throughout the UK who are affected by blindness or visual impairments.”
