Scottish War Blinded member Harry Hogg is very much looking forward to exhibiting a number of his paintings at ‘Creative Vision’ as part of Luminate Creative Ageing Festival 2015.

The event will take place at the Linburn Centre and will celebrate the artistic talents of Scottish War Blinded members through an art exhibition supported by a centenary exhibition storyboard presentation and interactive art workshops.

Scottish War Blinded member Harry Hogg - Luminate 2015Harry, aged 96 and pictured right, discovered his aptitude for art at the Linburn Centre where he has flourished into an accomplished artist whose paintings are inspired by his time in the Navy as well as his family and the natural world.

He successfully captures exceptionally fine detail, despite his visual impairment, as a result of using a hand magnifier, lighting and a computer camera system called Acrobat which projects his work onto a large screen.

Harry said:

“I really enjoy coming to the Linburn Centre and developing my artistic skills. The Art Room is a great place to be as there’s so many members producing fantastic artwork, models and pottery. I really hope that visitors to the Linburn Centre for Creative Vision enjoy the art exhibition as well as everything else the event will offer.”

Creative Vision takes place at the Linburn Centre on Saturday 24 October 2015 from 10am-4pm. Book free online tickets
