Scottish War Blinded Centenary Statue Commission Opportunity

Posted: 10/02/2015 | Scottish War Blinded

Scottish War Blinded is offering a commission opportunity with regards to the production of a centenary statue to be unveiled at the Linburn Centre in July 2015.

The statue will celebrate a century of the charity expanding horizons of visually impaired veterans across Scotland which began in 1915 to meet the ever increasing numbers of blinded servicemen returning to Scotland from World War One.

A hundred years on Scottish War Blinded continues to support visually impaired veterans who have lost their sight in service but also those who have lost their sight in subsequent later life, many of whom have contributed their thoughts and ideas in the production of the project brief.

The centenary statue will be placed on a plinth in the Linburn Centre gardens providing a focal point for members during recreation and a point of interest for visitors.
