Scottish War Blinded has gifted voice recorders, SD cards and headphones to the Highlanders’ Museum in Inverness supporting their work in making exhibitions accessible for all.

As the largest regimental museum outside of Edinburgh, visitors can muse over 20,000 artefacts and 10,000 documents and photographs of Scottish regiments raised from the Clans and communities of the Highland’s and Isles in the late 1700’s.

The museum is located in the historic site of fort George which welcomes 60,000 people every year and a key military garrison and depot for Scottish regiments for over 250 years, currently housing the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.

Amanda Galleitch, Curator at the Highlanders’ Museum said:

“The gift will play an important part in helping us to pursue our stated mission of engaging, illuminating and inspiring our visitors and making the collection accessible to all. We hold great store in the collection of personal items and how they help us reveal the everyday lives of ordinary soldiers and in the regiments in which they served”
