Scottish War Blinded record impressive victory at Blacklands Bowling Club

Scottish War Blinded members recorded an impressive 23-6 victory at Blacklands Bowling Club on Wednesday 27 July 2016.

Scottish War Blinded was represented on the day by members Ian Graham, Peter Ramsay and David Thomas, who was part of the successful Scottish 2012 silver medal paralympic bowling team.

Early initiative and momentum ebbed and flowed throughout the early stages as the teams found their range on a prisitine green bathed in North Ayrshire sunshine.

As the match progressed our members' accuracy, tactical awareness and teamwork proved to be difference on the day in establishing a lead.

Our members many years of experience proved crucial in the latter stages to consolidate their lead despite a spirited, late rally from Blackland Bowling Club.

Scottish War Blinded members David Thomas and Peter Ramsay reflected on the team’s performance:

David Said:

“I think today went really well and we played very well as a team. The greens were running very well, considering the recent weather, which contributed to a high quality match.”

Peter said:

“It’s been a good day and everyone at Blacklands Bowling Club has been so welcoming. Everyone played well as a team and it was a very enjoyable game.”

We offer our sincere thanks to Blacklands Bowling Club for their warm hospitality and look forward to a return match in the future.
