Members from Dundee and Fife enjoyed a wonderful reunion lunch held at West Park Resort, Dundee last week.

The event welcomed back Scottish War Blinded conference attendees as well as Rosendael social club regulars who enjoyed the opportunity to reflect and catch up after a very busy month.

For new members, the reunion lunch provided an opportunity to meet fellow members in the area and Scottish War Blinded staff.

Scottish War Blinded Reunion Lunch AScottish War Blinded member Susan Dunham said:

“I had a wonderful day, the meal was excellent, staff were very friendly and helpful.  It was nice to meet other members from Scottish War Blinded and share our stories.”

Following a delightful lunch, Scottish War Blinded CEO Richard Hellewell informed members about the next steps following the member conference, exciting plans about a new centre in Paisley and forthcoming Armed Forces Day and WWI commemorative events.

Anne Williams from the Fife Society for the Blind described the range of charitable and statutory services provided for visually impaired people such as activity groups, rehabilitation and welfare rights advice.

Julie Hair from Veterans Welfare Service also highlighted the war pension, compensation and welfare support services available to veterans as part of the Ministry of Defence ‘Veterans UK’ support function.

Thank you to everyone who attended and we look forward to next year’s event.
