Scottish War Blinded members enjoyed a wonderful reunion lunch event at the Holiday Inn, Edinburgh on Thursday 24 September 2015. Reunion Lunch events are keenly anticipated, held on an annual basis, which bring Scottish War Blinded members together in communities across Scotland.

As soon as members arrived, accompanied by friends and family, warm greetings were exchanged and conversations, as well as introductions, began. Members also enjoyed the opportunity to view Scottish War Blinded’s centenary exhibition which featured in the reception area.

The conversations carried on in the dining room where members enjoyed a wonderful lunch. Scottish War Blinded Outreach Manager Rosie McLaughlin provided members with an update on centenary events, plans to build a new centre in Paisley and the Linburn Centre Open Day taking place next month.

Derek Phaup from RNIB also provided a brief overview of recent developments within the charity and was joined by fellow guests Jason Scott from Blind Veterans UK and David Chauvelin from Veterans UK.

Scottish War Blinded member John Watson said:

“It’s been a great event and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the meal and pleasant company.”
