A Scottish War Blinded veteran recently took a trip to visit the National Memorial Arboretum.

Tom Carruthers, who attends Scottish War Blinded’s Hawkhead Centre in Paisley, attended the national memorial site, in Alrewas, Staffordshire, on October 6.

The Arboretum is the UK’s year-round centre for Remembrance, honouring those who have lost their lives while serving their country in the Armed Forces. There are over 350 memorials at the site.

While he was there, Tom located the Argyll and Sutherland Memorial.

He proudly wore his Scottish War Blinded red members’ t-shirt on the day.

Tom wished to share this memory with us – he has been to the memorial before and says it is a fantastic place to visit.
