Fight for Sight Announcement: Gene therapy for Choroideremia - the first clinical trial has started

Over 100,000 people worldwide are affected by choroideremia. It is an inherited condition that generally affects males only. Diagnosis is usually made in childhood and leads to blindness in men by their forties. To date there has been no treatment for the condition.

6 Year Old Lucy Aims to Change Lives with a Wave of Her Magic Wand

Lucy Campbell, aged six, from Musselburgh will be taking part in Glow in the Park, a children’s sponsored walk which will raise money for Edinburgh based charity Royal Blind. Lucy has so far managed to raise over £92 for the charity and is aiming to raise at least £200.

Less than Two weeks until Glow in the Park!!!!

We are all getting very excited as we get closer to our annual children's sponsored walk, Glow in the Park 2011, only a few weeks left now.

With nearly 350 people already registered so far, we are counting down the days until we get to see all the children in their storybook fancy dress, as we decend on the West Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh on Saturday 29th October.

Congratulations Morag!

Deputy Matron of Braeside House, Morag Francis, has successfully completed a 22 mile channel swim – in the warmth of her local swimming pool!

Morag hopes that the money raised from the swim will go towards buying a specialist chair for Braeside House. These chairs are important in helping to support the needs of residents within the care home and Morag hopes to raise a total of £2000 to help achieve this.
