Back to School with Kidscene

The Royal Blind School campus at Canaan Lane has begun a re-development programme that will enable all pupils at the Royal Blind School to be cared for and educated there by Summer 2014.

As part of the re-development, our after school and holiday club, Kidscene, has moved to newly refurbished premises at the Canaan Lane campus. The new premises are already a big hit in this new term.

East Lothian Vision Impairment Service - Anya's Story

 

 

Since 2017 the Royal Blind School has been providing the East Lothian Vision Impairment Service. Teachers from the Royal Blind School visit pupils with vision impairment in mainstream schools across East Lothian.  These regular visits mean they are able to offer vital support and skills, such as teaching braille, helping to adapt areas in the classroom and working with both the pupil and their teacher.

Kids awarded silver prize for enchanted pallet garden at Gardening Scotland

A garden designed by children at Kidscene’s After School and Holiday Club has been granted a silver award at Gardening Scotland.

The enchanted fairy garden was created by green-fingered kids and staff for the Scottish Gardeners’ Forum pallet gardening challenge.

The Kidscene Holiday Club has a special Christmas opening – 20 December 2013!

If you live in the Edinburgh area, you will know that local schools finish on Thursday 19 December.

Are you stuck for child care on Friday 20 December? Whether you are still at work, will be enjoying a Christmas lunch with your colleagues, or simply need some time off to do your Christmas shopping, Kidscene is open for one day only for Christmas fun! All you have to do is bring a packed lunch and your child will have lots of fun from 8.30am – 4.30pm.
