Lothian Buses Double-Decker visits the Royal Blind School

Royal Blind School pupils were recently treated to a very special mobility lesson when the school’s Habilitation Department organised for a Lothian Buses double-decker bus to visit the Craigmillar Campus.

Craigmillar Park Campus Friends and Family Day 2014

The annual Craigmillar Park Campus ‘Friends and Family Day’ took place on Friday 6th June, and was another fantastic opportunity for visitors to explore the Royal Blind School and meet our amazing teachers and staff.  This year’s event was even more special than usual, as it was the final Craigmillar Campus Friends and Family Day, ahead of the school’s exciting move to our newly renovated Canaan Lane Campus.

Having run for a few years, I always planned to run my first marathon when I turned 40.  The natural choice was do run the Edinburgh marathon and raise money for the Royal Blind School to say a huge thank you to them on behalf of my entire family for all their support and care given to my Nephew Lloyd over the last 12 years.

A Brailliant visit from Sue Reid Sexton!

This year's National Braille Week got off to a flying start with support from two leading authors. Granta Best Young British Novelist Jenni Fagan launched the week during the Portobello Book Festival (more here), then we had a fantastic visit to our services from historical novelist Sue Reid Sexton.
