Craigmillar Park Campus Friends and Family Day 2014

The annual Craigmillar Park Campus ‘Friends and Family Day’ took place on Friday 6th June, and was another fantastic opportunity for visitors to explore the Royal Blind School and meet our amazing teachers and staff.  This year’s event was even more special than usual, as it was the final Craigmillar Campus Friends and Family Day, ahead of the school’s exciting move to our newly renovated Canaan Lane Campus.

Lothian Buses Double-Decker visits the Royal Blind School

Royal Blind’s European Theatre Project

The world of the theatre and performing arts enriches the lives of millions throughout the world. Staff from Royal Blind are engaging with professional groups throughout Europe in a unique project to bring theatre and performance into the world of adults with Multiple Disabilities and Visual Impairment (MDVI).

Royal Blind Pupils Get Sneak Preview of Edinburgh Trams

A group of five pupils from the Royal Blind School had a fun day on Thursday 13th March when they got the chance to take a ride on one of Edinburgh’s long awaited trams. As the tram system isn’t due to launch until May, it was a fantastic opportunity to find out what the service will actually be like and how well it will cater to the unique needs of disabled, blind and visually impaired passengers.

Royal Blind School pupils Brandon, Daniel and Myles went on a visit to the Lanterns of the Terracotta Warriors Exhibition at the University of Edinburgh's Old College Quad. The boys had been learning about Chinese New Year when their teacher, Ms Young, found out about the exhibition.

MEP Visits Royal Blind School

MEP Visits Royal Blind School

The Royal Blind School is currently working on in collaboration with various partners in Europe as part of the Comenius STEP UP project.

The Comenius programme is named after Juan Amos Comenius, a passionate education reformer who was one of the earliest champions of a universal system of education.
