At the Royal Blind School, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and committed teacher for our expanding outreach service.  This is an exciting role where you will support the learning and development of children and young people with a Visual Impairment within local authority schools.

 

We are proud to be a leading provider of specialist learning and education services for children and young people with a Visual Impairment. By managing a peripatetic and evolving caseload of pupils, this role will be key to ensuring we can provide these specialist services to a wider reach of children by supporting schools to teach learners with a Visual Impairment.

The Royal Blind School, in Edinburgh is a leading provider of specialist education services for children and young people with a visual impairment, including those with additional support needs.  As a Grant Aided Independent Special School, we deliver education and support for day and residential pupils aged 5 to 19 years.

 

We currently have a vacancy for an innovative Teacher of Mathematics to join our school.  If you are an enquiring and reflective person with a creative approach to learning and teaching who can demonstrate a working experience of delivering Mathematics to learners with additional support needs, we would like to hear from you. 

 

The successful applicant will be able to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team developing the pupils’ confidence through the real-life application of Mathematics.  They will facilitate high quality, engaging learning experiences consistent with Curriculum for Excellence.  Applicants will demonstrate the ability to modify the curriculum to meet the needs of individual learners.
