Job Summary

Like most modern charities Royal Blind must continually fundraise in order to survive and be able to help the people we serve. We love to hold a number of fundraising events throughout the year as an effective and fun part of our approach to this. These can include gala dinners, ceilidhs, quizzes, comedy nights and much more; opportunities for people support us financially whilst also taking part in something fun and rewarding.

Are you good at coming up with ideas for great fundraising events? Can you help us with the considerable planning and preparation that goes into them? Are you a reliable and sociable person who can be there on the day to help us run an event and make sure people are having a great time?

Join our fundraising team and you will develop your skills, meet incredible people and have the time of your life; at the same time you will help Scotland’s largest vision impairment charity provide vital support to people with sight loss.

What does Royal Blind do?

Royal Blind is Scotland's largest vision impairment organisation. We create life changing opportunities for vision impaired children and adults from across Scotland and the rest of the UK. 

What team will you be supporting and what do they do?

The Fundraising department organise all Royal Blind’s events and challenges. The Volunteer Events Assistant will be assisting this team.  

Tasks and Responsibilities 

  1. Administrative Support (issuing raffle prize donation request letters, acknowledge donations received with a thank you letter)
  2. Event Promotion 
  3. Hosting information stalls at various events to raise charity awareness 

Volunteers should meet the following criteria 


  1. Minimum Age 18+
  2. Flexible and reliable 
  3. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  4. Excellent organisational skills 
  5. Ability to communicate effectively 
  6. A commitment to demonstrating Royal Blind and Scottish War Blinded values of being approachable, forward thinking, professional, positive, empowering and sector leading.
