Scottish War Blinded Remembrance Service

Scottish War Blinded held their annual remembrance service on Tuesday 11 November 2014 at the Linburn Centre. The service was presided over by Scottish War Blinded member Reverend Dr Bill Mackie.

Bill describes the event:

“As an Ordained member of the Scottish War Blinded, I was invited to lead the Service of Remembrance at the Linburn Centre on the 11th November 2014.

Scottish War Blinded Launch World War One Commemorative Exhibition

Scottish War Blinded successfully launched their exhibition 'Silhouettes in the Fog and Guiding Lights' at Central Library on Monday 10 November 2014.

The exhibition describes the devastating effects of gas attacks during World War One and the foundation of Scottish War Blinded to provide rehabilitation and training to blinded soldiers returning to Scotland from the Western Front.

Scottish War Blinded Choir Hits the High Notes of Success

The inaugural Scottish War Blinded choir session took place on Friday 31 November 2014 at Howden Park Centre.

Delivered in partnership with West Lothian Arts Council, the project provides an opportunity to bring Linburn Centre and Outreach members of Scottish War Blinded together to participate in the expressive arts.

Scottish War Blinded Host World War One Commemorative Art Exhibition

Scottish War Blinded hosted ‘Commemorative Vision’ at the Linburn Centre on Saturday 25 October 2014 as part of Age Scotland’s Luminate Festival.

The Luminate Festival takes place across Scotland throughout October and spotlights arts activities by and for older people, as well as events for audiences across the generations. The festival showcases projects and events run by communities and arts organisations nationwide.
