3 Rifles Visit the Linburn Centre

Representatives of 3 Rifles visited Scottish War Blinded members today (Thursday 22 September 2016) at the Linburn Centre.

3 Rifles are currently based at Dreghorn Barracks in Edinburgh and are a light mechanised infantry battalion, equipped with Foxhound protected mobility vehicles, who operate as part of the British Army’s Adaptive Force.

Alex and Nikki Shand recently ran The Great North Run in support of Scottish War Blinded. Alex describes their experience on the day and the reasons for choosing to support our charity.

"There was only one choice this year when it came to us selecting a charity. My wife’s (Nikki) Grandfather, Hugh Cassidy, sadly passed away earlier in the year, and Scottish War Blinded provided him and his wife with a great deal of support in the latter stages of his life.

The wonderful ladies section of Willow Bank Bowling Club warmly greeted our members upon arrival who would provide the opposition for today’s two doubles matches.
