Financial Assistance

equipment assessmentWe aim to support our members to maintain and increase their independence and improve their quality of life by providing the right services for them and their families.

This may be through providing some financial assistance.

For members who are struggling financially we may be able to provide help to:

  • Buy household items that they need, such as a cooker or washing machine
  • Fund specific equipment to assist with other disabilities, such as specialist seating or mobility aids
  • Assist with a move to more suitable accommodation
  • Fund housing adaptations to ensure that the person continues to be able to remain independent at home, such as a stair lift or ramp
  • Provide computer equipment and/or training that will assist the member to continue with or undertake specific activities that are important to them.

We also make sure that all our members are receiving the right benefits by putting them in touch with a local organisation who can help and have specialist knowledge of the issues that a visual impairment brings.
