Housing

Affordable rent housing on the Linburn Estate

We have 22 affordable rent houses on the Linburn estate, including family sized homes as well as four smaller newly built bungalows alongside the Centenary Hall.

When any become vacant we offer them to Scottish War Blinded members first.  If there are no members who are interested in renting at the time, we approach veterans' charities in case they know of a veteran who may be interested.

Only if there are no takers from the veterans community do we consider letting a vacant property to members of the public.

We do not keep a waiting list for any of our properties as we know our members’ circumstances change all the time.

If you would like to enquire about housing, please contact us.

Holiday house opening on Linburn estate

In 2017, a new holiday house will open up for members on the Linburn estate. The former gardener's cottage is being refurbished and upgraded.

It is a large three bedroom bungalow that is being made entirely accessible for wheelchair users. Members will be able to book it for a short break on the beautiful Linburn estate, or use it to try out activities and opportunities at the Linburn Centre.

Funding for house adaptations

We are at times able to fund adaptaitons to members' own houses to enable them to live at home independently with sight loss. If you are a member, please contact your local outreach worker to discuss.
